You simply make your brownies as usual and once it is poured into the pan you place the sectioner in the batter and bake. Once your brownies are cooked and cooled, the sectioner is removed and you have evenly sliced the brownies not to mention you have 18 brownies that all have the delicious edges. If that was not easy enough, after removing the sectioner you place the entire pan, centered, on the included wire lifting rack. In doing so, the removable bottom stays on this rack and the outer pan drops underneath allowing for you to easily use a small turner to remove the brownies. You can also use the sectioner as a cutter after baking is completed.
